Monday, June 3rd, was an unforgettable day at Sion Farm Distillery. An excited crowd gathered in anticipation of the arrival of award-winning chef and author Sam Choy, famously known as the “Godfather of Poke.” Attendees had the unique opportunity to meet Chef Choy, savor his delectable appetizers, and acquire a copy of his breadfruit cookbook. The event was hosted by Mutiny Island Vodka, co-owned by award-winning chef Todd Manley, who has expertly curated the brand on the island of St. Croix.

This dynamic duo has journeyed to Hawaii and American Samoa, with Choy imparting his extensive knowledge of breadfruit to Manley. Their collaboration has blossomed into a fellowship rooted in friendship and a shared enthusiasm for the endless possibilities of breadfruit. The evening was a culinary delight, featuring Choy’s inventive breadfruit appetizers such as ‘Ulu Spam Musubi, Tempura ‘Ulu, Southern Pacific ‘Ulu, Mango and Banana, and ‘Ulu Bread Pudding, along with many other mouth-watering treats.
Complementing the food, Mutiny mixologists crafted delectable Mutiny Vodka drinks, including the Mutiny Mai Tai, the Mutiny Herb Smash, and the Mutiny Purple Hawaiian. Each drink showcased local fruits, herbs, and other island treasures, all enhanced by the smooth, clean taste of Mutiny Island Vodka. We opted for the Mutiny Purple Hawaiian, a drink that perfectly complemented the food and left a lasting impression.

The Story of Mutiny Vodka
Conceived on the island of St. Croix and perfected in 2017, Mutiny Island Vodka offers an unforgettable taste that is both distinctive and clean. This true Island Vodka captures the essence of its tropical home in the US Virgin Islands’ own St. Croix.
Breadfruit and Caribbean Rainwater
Breadfruit is a gift from the islands, rich in flavor, versatility, and history. It’s not only a culinary gem but also a powerful ally in the fight against climate change. Breadfruit trees absorb significant amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere, more so than many commercially farmed crops, and return it to the soil. Mutiny has combined this bountiful breadfruit with purified Caribbean rainwater to create a handcrafted Island Vodka that stands out from the rest.

Award-Winning
Mutiny Island Vodka has earned prestigious accolades, including a gold medal at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Best in Class at Tales of the Cocktail 2022, and double gold at The Fifty Best 2023 competition for Best Domestic Vodka.
