Held on July 19th along the Frederiksted waterfront, the second annual Tart Wars brought thousands together to celebrate local culture, community pride, and—of course—the island’s beloved tarts.
After a few wonderful months of being open, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the ongoing support from the local community. Your enthusiasm and energy have turned Sandy Point Art Oasis into a true gathering place for art, culture, and relaxation right here on the beautiful shores between Dorsch Beach and Sandy Point.
This summer, cruise ships will continue to grace the shores of Frederiksted, bringing an influx of visitors and a wave of excitement to the local community. This steady stream of tourists is a boon for businesses and residents alike, injecting vitality and economic growth into the heart of Frederiksted. At the forefront of this welcoming spirit is the newly opened St. Croix Welcome Center, a vibrant hub that embodies the essence of the island’s culture and hospitality.

Last Saturday signified my second St. Patrick’s Day celebration on St. Croix. In contrast to the previous year when I was a newcomer to the island, unfamiliar with many faces, this time around, I was extended an invitation by some local friends to participate and assist with one of the floats in the 53rd St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The float I joined held a special place in my heart, as it was sponsored by none other than my favorite local haunt, the Lost Dog Pub in Frederiksted.

From colorful carnivals to religious celebrations, St. Croix offers a diverse array of special holidays that showcase its unique spirit and traditions. The 52nd Agriculture Fair (AgriFest) on St. Croix took place at the Agriculture grounds from February 16 to 19, 2024. It was a delightful occasion as vendors showcased their goods for buyers. People attended the fair to enjoy music, entertainment, competitions, food, and drinks. The event featured interesting community booths showcasing school arts and crafts exhibits, businesses presenting their offerings and information, and government and federal departments displaying their future goals or current community initiatives. They also distributed information and souvenirs and facilitated sign-ups for programs and jobs. The event spanned three days, providing an opportunity for shopping and community engagement from 9 am to 6 pm each day. Entrance fees were $6 for adults, $4 for children, and $5 for senior citizens.
On St. Croix’s shores, where azure waters meet,

Excitement swept through St. Croix as President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden graced our small island with their recent getaway visit. Governor Albert Bryan Jr. expressed pride in welcoming the distinguished guests, emphasizing the unique charm and warmth that St. Croix offered.
Step into the heart of St. Croix’s culinary scene at the Chicken Shack’s Coquito Festival 2023. The event unfolded with coquito tasting, a vibrant music scene, and a spirited competition for the best-decorated bottle. As the day ended, those who missed the festivities eagerly anticipated joining the celebration next year.
