JetBlue Now Offers Direct Flights to STX and other Caribbean Destinations

New York City, New York – March 1, 2020: JetBlue Airbus A320 airplane at New York JFK airport (JFK) in the United States. Airbus is a European aircraft manufacturer based in Toulouse, France.

 

   Calling all aerophiles and frequent travelers. Your favorite destination just became more accessible. JetBlue is now offering direct flights to St. Croix. Daily flights from San Juan began December 12, 2024. The airline previously offered flights to St. Croix from 2011 until suspending service in 2019. Round trip ticket prices start around $130 for the Blue Basic entry-level fare.

Recently, I had the opportunity to watch the movie “Oppenheimer” at the Caribbean Cinemas in St. Croix. As someone fascinated by the legacy of the man known as “The Father of the Atomic Bomb,” J. Robert Oppenheimer, I couldn’t help but be curious about his life. During my visits to St. John, I learned that he spent his final days in seclusion at Hawksnest Bay, where his modest home still stands, now fondly known as Oppenheimer Beach. This sparked my interest in whether Oppenheimer ever visited St. Croix.
