Fading into Obscurity: One of The Last Kmart’s Battle Against Retail Extinction

When I first arrived on St. Croix, I was taken aback by the presence of a couple of Kmarts on the island, the only “big-box” stores in sight. Golfing on St. Croix is Always a Par-ty!

Recently, I have become obsessed with the glorious sport of golfing. When my partner, Melanie, and I found out we were heading to St. Croix for a couple weeks, my instant reaction was to find the closest golf course to where we were staying. My heart leapt for joy when I saw that St. Croix has not one, but THREE main golf courses that visitors can play at. But the thing that had everyone talking was the SpaceX 9 launch which lit up the skies over the northern Caribbean on Monday night. There were lots of great photos capturing a curious phenomenon bursting into the evening sky, but also lots of speculation about what it could be.  I mean, who doesn’t love a good alien invasion or Chinese spy effort story? But it wasn’t either of those things.

My Experience Aboard the QE IV Ferry Service

Have you ever heard of the term “vomit comet”? No, me neither…. it’s not a type of space shuttle, but rather a nickname for a type of boat that can cause motion or seasickness. And let me tell you, the QE IV Ferry Service definitely, but affectionately deserves it’s nickname. Regardless of its nicknae, it is still one of the most dependable of all the island ferries.
