What is Mango Melee in St. Croix?

Mango Melee is a place where the community celebrates a festive time to introduce types of mangos, learn about the island culture, taste the mango recipes, quadrille dance, art, music, and fun. Mango Melee was created in 1997 as a family tradition. Foremost, the heritage of the botanical garden is a collaboration of the three USVI islands St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John, that propagated different plant species. To navigate native awareness and education on the type of plants that grow on the islands. The event also gives you the opportunity to learn about nature’s cultivation of plants and trees.

A Sweet Spot in STX

As a person with a chronic sweet tooth, I knew that I couldn’t go without some ice cream during my time at St. Croix. I will forever be grateful to my taxi driver, Iron, for recommending Armstrong’s Homemade Deli and Ice Cream. I haven’t had ice cream this good in a long time.

We have heard nothing but rave reviews for the Buck Island tour, so we knew we had to do it. A quick walk on the Christiansted Boardwalk led us to Caribbean Sea Adventures and their beautiful powerboat. Booking a tour to Buck Island was one of the best decisions of our trip yet.

One of the advantages of Melanie and I visiting St. Croix was that Melanie’s cousin, Anthony, lives in St. Thomas. Since he travels back and forth from St. Croix to St. Thomas, he has friends in St. Croix that we’ve gotten to know. A couple of days ago, Anthony told us he was coming to St. Croix for the weekend. We never would have expected the adventures we had with him.

Recently, I have become obsessed with the glorious sport of golfing. When my partner, Melanie, and I found out we were heading to St. Croix for a couple weeks, my instant reaction was to find the closest golf course to where we were staying. My heart leapt for joy when I saw that St. Croix has not one, but THREE main golf courses that visitors can play at. After weeks of bugging Melanie with my excitement (and asking her to be my caddy), I booked a tee time at Carambola Golf Club and got ready for one of the most beautiful rounds of my life.

My partner, Melanie, and I are new travelers to St. Croix.
